Job summary

Tyler Pipe Company is seeking an Accounts Receivable Clerk to support financial operations, process customer payments, and maintain AR records on-site in Tyler, TX. The role requires attention to detail and collaboration with Sales, Customer Service, Shipping, and Accounting teams.

Salary range is $55,000–$60,000 per year with a 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, Monday–Friday schedule. This is a non-exempt, salary position with 100% on-site work.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• Experience with Accounts Receivable, accounting, bookkeeping, or customer account management.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) or a similar ERP/accounting system is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Strong data entry skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality.
• Ability to work overtime during month-end close, audit periods, or other business needs when required.

Responsibilities

• Process and apply customer payments accurately and timely through various payment methods including lockbox, ACH, wire transfers, and credit cards.
• Maintain customer account records and ensure accurate posting of invoices, credit memos, debit memos, and adjustments.
• Monitor and reconcile customer accounts, investigate discrepancies, and resolve unapplied cash issues.
• Review accounts receivable aging reports and follow up on past due customer balances.
• Communicate professionally with customers regarding payment status, deductions, disputes, and account reconciliation issues.
• Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, Shipping, and Accounting departments to resolve billing and payment concerns.
• Prepare daily cash reports and assist with month-end closing activities and account reconciliations.
• Maintain organized and accurate Accounts Receivable files and records.
• Successfully manage a high volume of customer accounts, invoices, cash applications, and collections activities while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
• Assist with customer credit file maintenance, new account setup documentation, and credit reference collection.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Accounts Receivable and Credit functions.
• Provide backup support for other accounting functions as needed.
