Construction Material Testing is seeking a technically skilled 3D scanning technician to perform handheld scans on concrete, metal, and other structures. You will capture data on site, process it with Artec Studio, and deliver ready-to-use meshes, reports, and CAD-ready files.

You must be capable on active construction sites, travel to regional hubs, and read structural drawings. We offer growth within a new service line and sponsor relevant certifications.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience operating a handheld scanner on real projects.
• Working knowledge of Artec Studio or comparable software.
• Familiarity with CAD and ability to read structural/fabrication drawings.
• Comfortable on active construction sites and in industrial plants; able to carry equipment.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable record; able to travel and fly as assigned.
• ACI, NICET, or ICC certifications a plus; sponsorship available.

Responsabilités

• Plan and execute handheld 3D scans of rebar, embeds, and various structures.
• Control drift using reference features and overlapping zones.
• Verify capture completeness on site before leaving.
• Process scans in Artec Studio: registration, fusion, mesh cleanup, texture, export.
• Produce deviation maps, reports, and scan-to-CAD files for clients.
• Build scan-to-CAD solids (STEP/IGES) for reverse engineering.
• Document capture procedures and chain of custody for forensic matters.
• Coordinate access, permits, and safety with site contacts; travel as needed.
