Construction Material Testing is seeking a trained 3D scanning technician to operate handheld scanners, process data, and deliver scan-to-CAD files for diverse on-site projects from rebar to corroded pipes. You will verify data on-site, then process in Artec Studio and provide client-ready meshes and reports.

The role requires on-site work, ability to travel, a valid driver's license, and willingness to obtain additional certifications.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience operating handheld scanners on real projects.
• Familiarity with Artec Studio or comparable scan-processing software.
• Comfortable on active construction sites and in industrial plants; able to carry equipment.

Responsabilités

• Plan and execute handheld 3D scans of rebar and embeds before concrete placement.
• Control drift on large objects with reference features and overlapping zones.
• Verify capture completeness on site before leaving.
• Process scans in Artec Studio: registration, fusion, mesh cleanup, texture, and export to STL, OBJ, E57, and CAD formats.
• Produce deviation color maps, measurement reports, crack maps, and anchor bolt coordinate reports.
• Build scan-to-CAD solids (STEP/IGES) for reverse engineering and fit-up checks.
• Document capture procedure, equipment settings, and chain of custody on forensic matters.
• Coordinate access, permits, and safety with superintendents and plant contacts.
• Travel to regional hubs as assigned.
