Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a skilled 3D scanning technician to operate handheld Artec Leo on projects ranging from rebar mats to corroded pipes. You will capture data on site, verify it, process in Artec Studio, and deliver meshes and scan-to-CAD outputs for actionable use.

You’ll work across construction sites, coordinate with plant teams, and travel to regional hubs as required. The role offers opportunities for certifications and career growth within a growing service line.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience operating handheld 3D scanners on real projects.
• Experience with Artec Studio or similar scan-processing software.
• Familiarity with reading CAD drawings and fabrication plans.
• Willingness to travel and work on active construction sites.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute handheld 3D scans of rebar, embeds, pipes, and structures.
• Control drift on large objects with reference features and overlap.
• Verify capture completeness on site before leaving.
• Process scans in Artec Studio: registration, fusion, mesh cleanup, texture, and export.
• Create deviation maps, reports, and scan-to-CAD outputs.
• Build scan-to-CAD solids or hand-clean meshes for the modeling team.
• Document capture procedures, equipment settings, and chain of custody.
• Coordinate access, permits, and safety with site contacts.
• Travel to regional hubs as assigned.
