Job summary
Electrical Automation Services in Glendale, AZ is hiring a Controls Engineer for the day shift to support a high-speed beverage manufacturing facility. The role is on-site in Glendale with a 2-2-3 schedule, 6:00 AM–6:00 PM, and a base salary of $100,000–$130,000 plus a 20% targeted annual bonus.
You will serve as the on-shift controls expert, troubleshoot PLC/HMI, diagnose VFDs and servo systems, mentor maintenance staff, and lead controls improvement projects in collaboration with operations,
Qualifications
- Associate degree in engineering technology or related discipline.
- At least four years of industrial automation experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment.
- Strong PLC troubleshooting and programming skills.
- Experience with HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, instrumentation, and industrial networks.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and control drawings.
- Ability to work independently and across plant teams.
- Willingness to work the 2-2-3 schedule (6:00 AM–6:00 PM).
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary on-shift controls and automation expert.
- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 troubleshooting for automated production lines.
- Diagnose PLC, HMI, VFD, servo, and network issues.
- Troubleshoot equipment failures and restore production safely.
- Lead controls improvement projects to improve safety and throughput.
- Mentor maintenance technicians and operators on controls practices.
- Maintain documentation, backups, and change records.
- Support equipment commissioning and system integration.
