Job summary

Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs (WDVA) is seeking an on-call Registered Nurse 2 for the Walla Walla Veterans Home. The RN will oversee NACs, deliver skilled care, and support daily living activities for veterans and eligible family members.

On-call status means rotational shifts with a minimum four full shifts per month. The position requires WA RN licensure, a nursing degree, and strong English skills.

Qualifications

• Current Washington state registered nurse license or multistate license.
• Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Must be proficient in English (read, write, speak).
• Agency competencies: willingness to learn and to meet others' needs.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise nursing personnel in the assigned area.
• Coordinate staff assignments and communicate resident status and care needs.
• Plan, oversee, and evaluate work; provide training to new staff.
• Assist physicians with examinations, procedures, and care.
• Oversee medication administration and treatment completion as ordered.
• Coordinate communication between clinicians, social workers, psychologists, RN3s, and NACs.
