Job summary

State of Washington’s Washington State Penitentiary in Walla Walla seeks on-call Registered Nurses (RN2-OC) to provide comprehensive health care services, including screening, assessments, and timely responses to health needs. On-call shifts across day, swing, and night hours with premiums and required core training.

Qualified applicants will hold an active WA RN license (or compact), have at least 1 year of RN experience, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Must hold current, unrestricted WA RN license or valid multistate license via compact licensure.
• Minimum 1 year experience as a Registered Nurse.
• BLS certification required; ACLS or other cannot substitute BLS.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing services to promote health, healing, and coping for incarcerated individuals.
• Screen, assess, and evaluate health conditions of inmates.
• Respond to requests for health care promptly and therapeutically; delegate and supervise care as needed.
