Job summary

Save the Children is seeking Program Aide on call/substitutes to provide educational, relational, and social experiences for infants, toddlers and preschoolers. You may be assigned to various classrooms and travel to sites or home visits as needed, reporting to the Education & Inclusion Manager or Center Director.

Responsibilities include classroom assistance, occasional substitutes, and janitorial or kitchen tasks to support program operations while ensuring safety and confidentiality for

Qualifications

• Must be at minimum 18 years old.
• Minimum high school diploma or GED.
• Certification as applicable by Head Start or childcare regulations.
• Within 90 days of employment, obtain basic first aid and pediatric CPR certification.
• Demonstrated knowledge of working with infants, toddlers, and preschool children.
• Professional proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Ability to relate well with children and communicate with staff, parents and families.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Provide educational, relational and social experiences for young children.
• Assist classroom staff and substitute for teachers as needed.
• Support daily classroom management and program operations.
• Travel to various program sites and home visits as required.
• Uphold safety, confidentiality and Head Start program standards.
