Job summary

Save the Children US is seeking a Program Aide on-call/Substitutes to support Head Start, U.S. Programs.

The role includes assisting infants to preschoolers with educational, relational and social activities, and may require travel to program sites and home visits, reporting to the Education & Inclusion Manager or Center Director. Responsibilities span classroom assistance, kitchen and janitorial tasks, and general program duties.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED required.
• Within 90 days of employment, obtain basic first aid and pediatric CPR certification.
• Professional proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Ability to relate respectfully with children, families and staff.
• Ability to follow directions and take initiative.

Responsibilities

• Provide educational, relational and social experiences for infants, toddlers and/or preschoolers.
• Assist classroom staff and substitute when needed.
• Perform kitchen, janitorial and general program duties as required.
• Travel to various program sites or home visits as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to Head Start standards.
