Job summary

Save the Children US in Oklahoma seeks a Program Aide on-call/Substitutes to support infants, toddlers, and preschoolers with educational, relational and daily care activities across classrooms, kitchens, and transit as needed. You will assist with classroom management, meal duties, and safety, reporting to the Education & Inclusion Manager or Center Director, with possible travel to sites and home visits.

This role requires background checks and adherence to Head Start standards.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Minimum high school diploma or GED.
• Certification as applicable by Head Start/childcare regulations.
• Within 90 days of employment, obtain basic first aid and pediatric CPR certification.
• Demonstrated knowledge of working with infants, toddlers, and preschool children.
• English proficiency in spoken and written form.

Responsibilities

• Provide educational, relational and social experiences for infants, toddlers and/or preschool-aged children.
• Assist classroom staff and substitute for Assistant Teacher or Teacher as needed.
• Assist with food service duties, kitchen cleaning and safety practices.
• Support daily classroom operations, manage time, and communicate with families and staff.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to Head Start standards and policies.
