Job summary

Brookdale Senior Living is seeking a Maintenance Manager to supervise the community maintenance, housekeeping, and related staff, ensuring high standards of upkeep for both interior and exterior areas. You will coordinate repairs, manage safe operations, and maintain compliance with applicable codes and safety policies.

Responsibilities include directing maintenance schedules for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and safety systems, and communicating with inspectors.

Qualifications

• Supervises maintenance, housekeeping, and laundry staff (where applicable) and handles hiring, training, evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
• Directs interior/exterior upkeep; inspects work for quality and compliance with standards.
• Oversees scheduled maintenance (HVAC, elevators, fire/sprinkler systems, generators, landscapes, kitchen equipment, emergency systems).
• Coordinates resident maintenance requests and repairs (plumbing, electrical, heating, lighting).
• Maintains common areas, walls, floors, doors, and woodwork in good condition.
• Communicates with fire, building, and elevator inspectors and adheres to local/state codes.
• Reviews SDS for hazardous chemicals and safety precautions.
• Manages property damage assessments and claims per policy.
• Responds to resident or community emergencies as needed.
