Job summary

WSP is expanding its On Call Emergency Management Recovery Cadre and is seeking qualified On Call Emergency Management Specialists, Recovery to support disaster recovery operations. This is not a full-time position and opportunities are project dependent, with deployment to client sites nationwide and travel on short notice.

Selected candidates must be available to travel with 24-48 hours' notice, endure demanding schedules, and report to various locations across the United States as needed to

Qualifications

• High School Diploma; 7 years of professional experience including 1+ years in an Emergency Management role or equivalent.
• Broad knowledge of Emergency Management principles, methods and techniques.
• Travel required - must be able to travel to client sites.

Responsibilities

• Support clients through all phases of disaster recovery, providing technical assistance and expertise for funding, documentation, and rebuilding processes.
• Deploy to Emergency Operations Centers and Field Staging Areas to support recovery operations on the ground.
• Perform recovery functions including logistics, supply coordination, cost documentation, and resource management.
• Analyze project applications, supporting documentation, and inspection reports for accuracy and compliance with FEMA, HMGP, HUD programs.
• Manage assigned recovery projects from initiation through closeout, ensuring on-time delivery.
• Monitor client progress and funding milestones using grant management systems.
• Stay current on procurement, contracting, and grant compliance across disaster funding sources.
• Attend periodic training to maintain deployment eligibility.
