Job summary

WSP is expanding its On-Call Emergency Management Recovery Cadre and seeks qualified On-Call Emergency Managers to support disaster recovery operations nationwide. Roles report to deployment locations as needed and require travel with short notice.

These are not full-time positions and depend on project needs. Selected candidates must be available to deploy with 24-48 hours' notice and sustain demanding schedules during assignments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional emergency management experience, including at least 1 year in a dedicated emergency management role
• Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, or related concentration
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• FEMA Emergency Management Institute certification (Independent Study)
• Willingness to travel to client sites as needed
• Maintain ethical and safe handling of company funds and resources

Responsibilities

• Lead disaster recovery operations for assigned clients and direct teams through all recovery phases
• Deploy to Emergency Operations Centers or field sites to lead recovery operations and liaise with client leadership
• Supervise recovery staff across logistics, documentation, and resource management
• Evaluate project applications, supporting docs, and inspection reports for compliance with FEMA, state, and local requirements
• Manage a portfolio of recovery projects from initiation to closeout and ensure on-time delivery
• Monitor grant management systems to track progress, documentation, and funding milestones across projects
• Advise staff and clients on procurement, contracting, and grant compliance requirements
• Lead training and onboarding for recovery staff to maintain readiness and deployment eligibility
• Build and maintain client relationships as trusted advisors throughout the recovery lifecycle
