Job summary

WSP USA is seeking on-call Emergency Management Specialists to support disaster recovery efforts nationwide. These roles require readiness to deploy on short notice, travel to client sites, and provide expert guidance across FEMA, HMGP and HUD programs.

This is not a full-time position and depends on project needs. Qualified candidates bring 7 years of exp in emergency management with a track record of safe, compliant operations and proficiency in MS Office; willing to travel and meet screening

Qualifications

• 7 years of professional experience, including 1+ years in an Emergency Management role (Response, Recovery or related), or equivalent.
• Broad knowledge of Emergency Management principles, methods and techniques.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• FEMA Emergency Management Institute Independent Study - Professional Development Series certification.
• Travel Required - Must be able to travel to client sites as project warrants.
• Must successfully pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening.
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

Responsibilities

• Support clients through all phases of disaster recovery, providing technical assistance and expertise.
• Deploy to Emergency Operations Centers and Field Staging Areas to support recovery operations.
• Perform recovery functions including logistics, supply coordination, and resource management.
• Analyze project applications and inspection reports for compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
• Manage assigned recovery projects from initiation through closeout.
• Utilize grant management systems to monitor progress and funding milestones.
• Maintain knowledge of procurement, contracting, and grant compliance across disaster funding sources.
• Attend periodic training to stay current on recovery program policies and deployment eligibility.
