Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Data Center Technician in Mississippi (Jackson) to perform server rack installations, hardware break-fix, and troubleshooting of networking and systems in a 24/7 environment.

You will travel between data center locations as needed, participate in on-call rotations, and help maintain uptime of AWS services while collaborating with engineers, vendors, and contractors. Shift work including nights and weekends is required.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of computer networking experience.
• 1+ years of Linux operating systems experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Experience in computer networking.
• Experience working with Linux operating systems.
• Can lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds.
• Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair.
• Work a flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays.
• 18+ months of computer/server hardware troubleshooting or related IT experience.
• 18+ months of computer layer 1/2 networking experience.

Responsibilities

• Performing server rack installations and hardware break-fix on various components.
• Troubleshooting network issues and responding to operational incidents.
• Carrying out routine network, server hardware, and OS repairs to ensure service availability.
• Serving as a primary contact point for engineers, vendors, and contractors.
• Participating in on-call duties and maintenance/change management.
• Contributing to documentation and process improvements.
