Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Biometric Technician for the USCIS ASC in San Jose, CA. This casual on-call role supports biometrics processing, entry screening, and customer service for applicants, with training provided.

Availability Mon-Fri 7:45am–4:15pm is required; hours are not guaranteed and compensation is $26.39 per hour. The position is on-site at the ASC location, offering benefits such as 401k and EAP, with on-call compensation and potential holiday/vacation pay depending on eligibility.

Qualifications

• Must obtain and maintain facility credentials; US citizenship required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to speak and write in English.
• Ability to stand for scheduled shift duration.
• Ability to hold and grasp applicant’s hands for fingerprints.
• Ability to work in a high-paced environment with the public.
• Successful completion of biometrics training within sixty days.
• Typing and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete biometrics registration for applicants seeking legal immigration to the United States.
• Ensure all entrants are approved applicants and visitors while assisting with crowd control and policy enforcement.
• Provide front-line customer service as representatives of Amentum and the US Government.
• Perform quality biometrics processing (fingerprints, photos, signatures) within processing times.
• Screen applicants for valid appointment notices and ID to enter the ASC.
• Utilize barriers to ensure safe, organized entry into the facility.
• Conduct periodic facility checks and report concerns to the Site Supervisor.
• Assist in contacting local law enforcement or first responders when necessary.
• Maintain administrative paperwork and visitor control logs.
