Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Biometric Technician in San Marcos, CA to support USCIS ASC operations. This casual on-call role requires availability five days a week for coverage, with no guaranteed hours.

Responsibilities include biometric processing, security screening, and front-line customer service for applicants and staff. Ideal candidates hold a high school diploma, English proficiency, and the ability to handle fingerprints, basic computer tasks, and fast-paced public interactions.

Qualifications

• Must obtain and maintain facility credentials; US citizenship required for credentials.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to speak and write in English.
• Ability to stand for scheduled shift duration.
• Ability to hold and grasp applicant’s hands to obtain fingerprints.
• Ability to work in a high paced environment with the public.
• Ability to type and use basic computer skills.
• Successful completion of biometrics training and certification within sixty days.

Responsibilities

• Complete biometrics registration for applicants seeking legal immigration to the United States.
• Ensure entrants are approved applicants and visitors while providing crowd control and enforcing ASC rules.
• Provide front-line customer service on behalf of Amentum and the United States Government.
• Perform quality biometrics processing including fingerprints, photographs, and signatures within processing times.
• Screen applicants for valid appointment notices and identification for entry.
• Utilize crowd control barriers to ensure safe and organized entry.
• Visually inspect applicants and belongings; health screening during pandemics as required.
• Conduct periodic facility checks and report concerns to the Site Supervisor.
• Assist Site Supervisor and/or immigration officers in contacting local law enforcement when necessary.
• Manage administrative paperwork: tracking processing times, reconciling biometrics, visitors log, and other duties.
