Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Biometric Technician (On-Call) to support USCIS ASC operations in Oakland, CA. You will handle biometrics processing, fingerprints, photos, and identity checks while delivering frontline customer service to applicants.

The role requires availability five days a week, 7:45am–4:15pm, with varying on-call assignments and no guaranteed hours. Training is provided; citizenship is required for facility credentials.

Qualifications

• Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials; US citizenship required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to speak and write in English.
• Ability to stand upright for shift duration.
• Ability to hold and grasp applicant's hands to obtain fingerprints.
• Ability to work in a high paced environment with the public.
• Successful completion of biometrics training within sixty days.

Responsibilities

• Complete biometrics registration for applicants seeking legal immigration to the United States.
• Ensure all who enter the ASC are approved applicants and visitors while providing crowd control and policy enforcement.
• Provide front-line customer service as representatives of Amentum and the US Government.
• Perform biometric processing including fingerprints, photos, and signatures within processing times.
• Screen applicants to ensure valid appointment notices and IDs.
• Utilize barriers to ensure safe and organized facility entry.
• Visually inspect applicants and belongings prior to entry; may address health status concerns during pandemics.
• Conduct periodic facility checks and report concerns to the Site Supervisor.
• Assist Site Supervisor or Immigration Service Officer in contacting local law enforcement when necessary.
• Manage and complete administrative paperwork such as tracking processing times and visitor logs.
