Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s in Anthropology or Archaeology, CRM experience, travel flexibility, and experience with GPS tools and field apps like Survey123 and Collector.

Qualifications

  • Willing to learn and adapt in a fast-paced interdisciplinary team.
  • Willing and able to travel out of town for up to 2 weeks at a time.
  • Proficient with state-issued data collection forms.
  • Familiar with Trimble sub-meter GPS and related software.
  • Completed archaeological field school or equivalent training.
  • Capable of working in remote, hot, dry climates and physically demanding conditions.
  • Experience working with Native American groups.
  • Familiar with field apps like Survey123 and Collector.
  • Knowledge of Section 106 compliance on federal lands.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Committed to upholding a strong safety culture.

Responsibilities

  • Directly assist field directors and project managers with pre-field planning, surveys, and monitoring.
  • Demonstrate solid field skills and work independently or in a crew.
  • Identify and document archaeological potential areas, sites, and traditional use sites.
  • Collect appropriate field data.
  • Support construction planning.
