Job summary

ABB is seeking an OEM Business Development Manager for Industrial Machinery to drive new business with OEMs across the Motion Drive Products portfolio. The role is remote within the United States with 50-75% travel, reporting to the OEM Sales Director - Machinery.

The ideal candidate has deep OEM sales experience, technical knowledge of drives and automation, and a track record of growing revenue in competitive markets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with extensive relevant experience in industrial machinery or automation.
• Proven business development and sales experience in drives, motors, automation, or related industrial solutions.
• Demonstrated success hunting for new business and growing revenue in competitive OEM markets.
• Experience with ABB or comparable portfolios including VFDs, automation solutions, micro drives, PLCs, and HMIs.
• Knowledge of OEM business models and machinery applications such as material handling, conveying, and food and beverage processing machinery.
• Strong skills in Salesforce, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Office, with excellent communication, negotiation, and strategic planning capabilities.
• Candidates must have work authorization to work in the US and be able to travel nationally.

Responsibilities

• Drive new business development and solution sales for ABB's Motion Drive Products portfolio with OEMs in industrial machinery.
• Develop 1-3 year growth strategies for targeted OEM accounts and map decision-makers to expand ABB's share of wallet.
• Own account planning, pipeline development, forecasting, and Salesforce CRM in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Monitor industry trends and competitive activity to build differentiated value propositions and support contract negotiations.
