Job summary

Travelers Insurance is seeking an Account Executive, Ocean Marine, in Spokane Valley, WA. You will partner with agents and brokers to provide coverage for new and renewal business, assessing risk and selling our products to meet profitability goals.

You will underwrite and negotiate customer accounts, maintain internal and external relationships, and travel for face-to-face meetings with partners to grow the book of business in line with our risk appetite.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Three to five years of underwriting experience with Ocean Marine.
• Knowledge of Ocean Marine products, regulatory environment, and local market.
• Strong critical thinking with ability to identify challenges and make timely decisions.
• Excellent negotiation and communication with agents and brokers.
• CPCU designation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned book of business.
• Underwrite and negotiate customer accounts to minimize risk and maximize profitability.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with internal partners to create sales plans and cross-sell opportunities.
• Foster relationships with external agents/brokers through regular meetings to market Travelers products and write/retain accounts.
• Identify and capture new business opportunities using consultative sales skills.
• Develop and execute agency sales plans and regional strategies.
