Job summary

Travelers seeks an Account Executive Officer for Ocean Marine to partner with agents and brokers on new and renewal business, assessing complex risk and selling our products in challenging markets. You will travel to meet external partners and internal stakeholders to drive profitability and growth.

The role requires deep Ocean Marine knowledge, a track record in underwriting, and strong negotiation and relationship-building skills with a commission-based incentive structure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Six to eight years of Ocean Marine underwriting experience.
• Deep knowledge of Ocean Marine products, regulatory environment and local market.
• Strong critical thinking and timely decision-making in underwritings and marketing.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills with agents/brokers.
• CPCU designation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage profitability, growth and retention of an assigned book of business.
• Underwrite and negotiate complex customer accounts to minimize risk and maximize profitability.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with internal partners to create sales plans and cross-sell opportunities.
• Meet with agents/brokers in person to market and sell Travelers products and write/retain accounts.
• Identify and capture new business opportunities using consultative sales skills.
• Develop and execute agency sales plans with the Managing Director to drive regional results.
• Support training and mentoring of less experienced Account Executives.
