Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Two years of underwriting, claim, operations, risk assessment, actuarial, sales, product, or finance experience required.
• Three to five years of Ocean Marine underwriting experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Ocean Marine products and regulatory environment required.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills with agents and brokers required.
• CPCU designation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned book of business.
• Underwrite and negotiate customer accounts to minimize risk and maximize profitability.
• Cultivate relationships with internal partners to create sales plans and identify cross-selling opportunities.
• Meet with agents and brokers to market Travelers products and write/retain accounts.
• Identify and capture new business opportunities using consultative sales skills.
• Develop and execute agency sales plans and regional sales plans.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
