Job summary

Travelers in Bellevue, WA is seeking an Account Executive for Ocean Marine to manage profitability and growth of a book of business. You will underwrite, negotiate accounts, and build strong internal and external relationships to drive results.

The role requires 2+ years experience in underwriting, claims, operations, risk assessment, actuarial, sales, product, or finance, plus knowledge of Ocean Marine products and a CPCU is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Three to five years of underwriting experience with Ocean Marine.
• Knowledge of Ocean Marine products, regulatory environment, and local market.
• Strong critical thinking to identify challenges and make timely decisions in line with risk appetite.
• Communication skills with agents/brokers to negotiate.
• CPCU designation.

Responsibilities

• Manage profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned book of business.
• Underwrite and negotiate customer accounts to minimize risk and maximize profitability.
• Cultivate and maintain internal and enterprise relationships to create sales plans and cross-sell opportunities.
• Travel to meet agents and brokers to market and sell Travelers products.
• Identify and capture new business opportunities using consultative marketing and sales skills.
• Develop and execute agency sales plans and region/group plans.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
