Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Nurse Aide in Labor and Delivery to support obstetrical procedures, patient care, and team training. The role requires adherence to sterile technique during surgeries and active participation in patient safety and comfort.

The position is full-time with night shifts, rotating weekends and holidays, and a formal Nursing Assistant program credential and BLS certification within six months are required.

Qualifications

• Nursing Assistant program completion or equivalent training.
• BLS (AHA) certification to be obtained within 6 months unless exempt.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with obstetrical procedures and deliveries, maintaining sterile technique.
• Scrub for obstetrical procedures and assist with instrument passing.
• Support direct patient care activities and safety needs.
• Serve as a resource for training staff on equipment and procedures.
• Maintain supplies and readiness for emergencies.
• Collaborate with operating room staff and educators for prep and emergencies.
