Job summary

Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Downers Grove, IL is seeking a Nurse Aide for Labor and Delivery. This full-time night shift (7pm–7:30am) rotates weekends and holidays, with a 36-hour work week.

You will scrub for OB procedures, assist with deliveries, and provide direct patient care under supervision. Requirements include Nursing Assistant program completion and BLS; will train on day shift for 8–12 weeks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Nursing Assistant program completion.
• Current Nursing Assistant certification/registration per state.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with obstetrical procedures including cesarean and vaginal deliveries.
• Scrub for obstetrical procedures and maintain sterile field.
• Assist in delivery procedures and prepare area per provider preference.
• Support patient daily living activities and comfort needs.
• Serve as training resource for technicians and RN staff.
• Maintain sterile supplies and equipment; readiness for emergencies.
• Document patient information accurately and timely.
• Collaborate with OR staff and educators for equipment and procedure prep.
• Provide age-appropriate care per department standards.
