Job summary

Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Illinois is seeking a Nurse Aide for Labor and Delivery. This full-time position (36 hours per week) features a night shift (7:00 PM–7:30 AM) with rotating every third weekend and holiday. Training on day shift for 8–12 weeks is required.

Qualified candidates must be a Nurse Aide in good standing with the state registry and obtain Basic Life Support within 6 months unless exempt. Advanced Nursing Assistant training is required.

Qualifications

• Nurse Aide in good standing as indicated by State Registry.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification must be obtained within 6 months unless exempt by leadership.
• Advanced training beyond high school including an accredited Nursing Assistant program.

Responsibilities

• Assist with obstetrical procedures and deliveries.
• Scrub and assist in the obstetric OR, maintain sterile field and pass instruments.
• Assist in direct patient care and comfort activities.
• Provide training to technicians, RN staff and others on equipment use.
• Maintain stock of sterile supplies and readiness for emergencies.
