Job summary

Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, IL is seeking a Nursing Assistant for Labor and Delivery to assist with obstetrical procedures, maintain sterile fields, and provide direct patient care. You will scrub for surgeries, prep delivery areas, and support the care team, while upholding safety standards and patient comfort.

No experience required; BLS within 6 months; 36 hours/week night shift with rotating weekends/holidays.

Qualifications

• Nursing Assistant program completion required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 6 months.
• No prior experience required.
• Proficiency with basic computer systems and EMR.

Responsibilities

• Assist with obstetrical procedures and maintain sterile field.
• Scrub for obstetrical procedures and pass instruments.
• Assist delivery procedures and prepare areas per provider preference.
• Provide direct patient care and safety support.
• Train technicians and RN staff in equipment use.
• Maintain sterile supplies and readiness for emergencies.
• Document and report patient information accurately and timely.
• Collaborate with OR staff on equipment and emergencies.
• Address age-specific patient care needs per department standards.
