Piedmont Cartersville is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support obstetrical procedures in the Labor and Delivery OR. You will handle instruments, supplies, and equipment and anticipate the surgeon's needs to maintain a sterile field.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, completion of a Surgical Technologist program, and at least one year of operating room experience. BCLS is required on hire; neonatal resuscitation is preferred.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required
• Graduate from a Surgical Technologist training program required
• 1 year previous operating room experience as a Surgical/Delivery Room Technologist required
• 3 years of experience providing direct patient care in a clinical setting required
• BCLS - Basic Life Support on Hire required
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation preferred

Overview:

Responsible for handling the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the obstetrical operations performed in the Operating Room located in the Labor and Delivery unit. He/she has an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. He/she has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field. Performs patient care duties under the direction of a registered nurse.
