Job summary

Piedmont Henry Hospital in Stockbridge, GA is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support obstetrical operations in the Labor and Delivery operating room. You will handle instruments, supplies, and equipment, ensuring sterility and readiness for procedures.

Under the supervision of a registered nurse, you will anticipate the surgeon’s needs, maintain the sterile field, and contribute to safe, high-quality patient care during operative procedures.

Qualifications

• GED or high school diploma required.
• Graduate from a Surgical Technologist training program required.
• 1 year OR experience as a Surgical/Delivery Room Technologist required.
• 3 years direct patient care in a clinical setting required.

• Handle instruments, supplies, and equipment for obstetrical operations in the operating room.
• Anticipate surgeon's needs and maintain sterile field.

He/she has an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. He/she has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field. Performs patient care duties under the direction of a registered nurse.

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required

Work Experience

• Graduate from a Surgical Technologist training program Required or
• 1 year previous operating room experience as a Surgical/Delivery Room Technologist Required or
• 3 years of experience providing direct patient care in a clinical setting Required

Licenses and Certifications

• BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Preferred
