Job summary

Piedmont Henry Hospital is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support obstetrical operations in the Labor and Delivery unit. You will handle instruments, supplies, and equipment, understand the procedure, anticipate the surgeon's needs, and help maintain a sterile field.

Under the direction of a registered nurse, you will provide patient care during operative procedures and ensure quality care through vigilance and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Education: H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate from a Surgical Technologist training program required.
• 1 year previous operating room experience as a Surgical/Delivery Room Technologist required.
• 3 years of direct patient care in a clinical setting required.
• BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire required.
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation preferred.

• Responsible for handling instruments, supplies, and equipment during obstetrical operations in the Labor and Delivery OR.
• Under the surgeon's procedure, anticipate needs and maintain the sterile field.
• Perform patient care duties under the direction of a registered nurse.

He/she has an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. He/she has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field. Performs patient care duties under the direction of a registered nurse.
