Job summary

Piedmont Cartersville seeks a Surgical Technologist to support obstetrical operations in the Labor and Delivery OR. You will handle instruments, supplies, and equipment, anticipate the surgeon's needs, and help maintain a sterile field while ensuring quality patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse.

The role requires completion of a surgical technologist program, GED or high school diploma, and BCLS certification at hire; neonatal resuscitation (NRP) is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a Surgical Technologist training program.
• 1 year previous operating room experience as a Surgical/Delivery Room Technologist.
• 3 years of experience providing direct patient care in a clinical setting.
• BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required.
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Preferred.

He/she has an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. He/she has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field. Performs patient care duties under the direction of a registered nurse.
