Job summary

Piedmont Newton Hospital in the Labor and Delivery Operating Room seeks a Surgical Technologist to manage instruments, supplies, and equipment during obstetrical procedures. You will anticipate the surgeon’s needs and maintain a sterile field while delivering quality patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, graduation from a Surgical Technologist program, and prior OR experience or related clinical care experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a Surgical Technologist training program.
• 1 year previous operating room experience as a Surgical/Delivery Room Technologist.
• 3 years of experience providing direct patient care in a clinical setting.

• Handle instruments, supplies, and equipment during obstetrical operations in the Operating Room located in the Labor and Delivery unit.

He/she has an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. He/she has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field. Performs patient care duties under the direction of a registered nurse.
