Job summary

Nicklaus Children's Health System is seeking a Clerical/Administrative ally for the Emergency Room Nursing unit. You will welcome patients and families, perform receptionist duties, and support clinical teams with requests and tasks.

The role requires 1–3 years of clerical or customer service experience, strong communication, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare setting. Bilingual Spanish is preferred.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of clerical or customer service experience.
• High school education or equivalent preferred.
• Graduate of a Unit Secretarial course or medical terminology course preferred.
• Previous healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promptly answers patient calls, transfers calls, and resolves requests.
• Greets patients, families, and visitors; provides administrative support.
• Distributes a Welcome Packet and orients guests to patient care areas.
• Identifies and assesses guests' needs as appropriate.
• Maintains the nursing station in an organized state.
• Manages inventory and orders supplies as needed.
• Maintains non-electronic patient records for code blue and trauma.
• Scans consents and calls all consults.
• Requests and follows up on servicing of non-functioning equipment.
• Ensures mobile computers are charged and functioning nightly.
• Keeps patient placement and unit spreadsheets accurate.
