Job summary

Athens Health and Rehab in Athens, PA, seeks an experienced Nursing Scheduler / HR Coordinator to manage nursing schedules, attendance, recruitment, onboarding, and HR duties to keep daily operations running smoothly.

The role works with nursing leadership and facility administration to ensure appropriate staffing, accurate records, and efficient HR processes within a skilled nursing setting.

Qualifications

• Previous nursing scheduler and/or HR experience preferred.
• Experience in a skilled nursing or long‑term care setting preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office or similar software.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Create, post, and maintain monthly nursing schedules and track changes.
• Approve trades with DON when delegated.
• Maintain records of call-offs, tardies, absences, and early departures.
• Coordinate with leadership to address staffing needs and vacancies.
• Prepare and submit payroll reports in a timely manner.
• Provide staffing, vacancy, and agency usage reports to leadership.
• Assist with recruitment, interviewing, and hiring processes.
• Coordinate onboarding and required employment documentation.
• Maintain confidential personnel records and attendance tracking.
• Support HR training documentation and policies compliance.
