Job summary

Ascension St. Joseph's Hospital in Milwaukee, WI is seeking a PRN patient care assistant in the Postpartum department. You will provide direct patient care under a nurse preceptor, take and document vital signs, and assist with care planning and transport for diagnostic procedures.

A high school diploma is required and you must enroll in nursing school within 90 days of hire. BLS within 30 days is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be accepted or enrolled into a nursing program and begin classes within 90 days of hire/transfer.
• BLS Provider certification required within 30 days of hire/transfer (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a nurse preceptor.
• Take, observe, and document vital signs and patient status, reporting updates to care staff.
• Contribute to patient care plans with observed data and diagnostic findings.
• Assist with environmental services and patient transport for diagnostic procedures.

Licensure/Certification/RegistrationWhat minimum requirements you’ll need

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
