Job summary

Southshorehealth seeks a Nursing Assistant to assist in patient care across nursing areas and to safely transport patients using wheelchairs or stretchers. The role includes handling dispatch services and documenting services rendered, while acting as an observer for patients requiring constant monitoring to ensure safety.

Employees must maintain BLS certification and participate in ongoing professional development. The position involves rotating 7a–7:30p shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required.
• Previous nursing assistant or equivalent experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively and document information accurately.
• Basic medical terminology and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Assists in direct/non-direct patient care under licensed personnel.
• Observes and reports patient data/status to RN.
• Responds to acuity changes and emergencies as directed.
• Performs receptionist and clerical duties to support unit operations.
• Ensures patient identification using two identifiers before procedures.
