Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital - McKeesport is seeking a Nursing Assistant (CNA/NA) for a full-time day shift (7a-7p) at our McKeesport site inside UPMC McKeesport. Provide essential patient care including bathing, oral hygiene, mobility, and rounds; assist transport as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years).
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Bath patients using basin-less bath products and assist with oral hygiene and grooming.
• Assist with transfer, positioning, and mobility of patients and transport to treatment areas.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of patient rooms and equipment (bedpans, urinals, wheelchairs).
• Participate in hourly rounds and respond to patient needs.
• Support unit stock levels and restock supplies as directed.

Compensation: $17.92 - $24.12 per hour, plus shift differentials for weekends

• Perform services for patients including bathing using basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding and care of hair
• Participate in hourly rounds
• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs
• Maintain the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs
• Keep patients’ rooms in clean and orderly condition
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed
• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)
• BLS is required within 90 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications

• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant, actively enrolled RN student)
