Job summary

University of Missouri Health Care is seeking a Nurse Tech for Capital Region Medical Center, Jefferson City, MO. The role supports nursing staff, coordinates patient care, and ensures comfort and timely responses to patient needs.

The position involves 3x12 hour days with rotating weekends, on-site work, and opportunities to work closely with the Med Surg Unit to enhance patient well-being and care delivery. MU Health Care emphasizes compassionate care and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in nursing program or completion of CNA/PCT certification
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or CNA exam registration
• Proof of PCT certification or equivalent patient-care experience
• Direct patient care experience in past 3 years as MA/NA/EMT/Surgical Tech
• UAP training program with 100 hours patient care experience within 3 years

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff in transferring patients and delivering meals
• Organize workload, manage multiple tasks, and communicate clearly
• Educate and train new staff in Care Team Associate responsibilities
• Perform duties as delegated by nursing staff and unit management
• Conduct basic patient care tasks including hygiene, vitals, glucose checks, venipuncture when needed
• Enter information into computerized bed-management system promptly
• Respond to patient call lights and address needs with positive guest relations
