Job summary

MU Health Care is seeking a Nurse Tech to support nursing and patient care at University Hospital in Columbia, MO. This on-site, day shift with every other weekend rotation involves assisting with patient transfers, meal delivery, feeding support, and essential clinical checks while maintaining a clean, organized unit.

You will train new staff, help with bed management, and respond promptly to patient needs, contributing to a compassionate, patient-centered environment across a busy hospital

Qualifications

• Completion of a Fundamentals of Nursing course within 90 days; or
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or CNA exam registration; or
• Certification as a Patient Care Technician (PCT); or
• Direct patient care experience in past three years as nursing assistant/EMT/surgical tech; or
• Completion of a UAP training program within last three years or within 180 days for licensure path.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing/ancillary staff in transferring patients and delivering meals.
• Organize workload, manage multiple tasks, and maintain an orderly environment.
• Educate and train new staff in Care Team Associate duties.
