Job summary

MU Health Care at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City, MO is hiring a Nurse Tech for a PRN, on-site role in the Med Surg Unit. The position involves assisting nursing staff, patient care, and supporting patient comfort on a fast-paced unit.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in nursing education program or hold CNA/PCT certification.
• Has 100 hours of patient care experience via UAP training or similar.
• Direct patient care experience within last 3 years; licensure candidacy okay.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff with patient transfers (bed to bed, stretcher or wheelchair).
• Deliver meals and assist with feeding as directed; answer unit telephones promptly; relay messages clearly.
• Educate and train new Care Team Associates on responsibilities.
• Perform duties as delegated by nursing staff; maintain a clean, organized work environment.
• Assist with vital signs, specimen handling, and basic lab specimen transport.
• Enter information into bed-management system accurately; respond to patient call lights promptly.
