Job summary

MU Health Care is seeking a Nurse Tech to support patient transfers, meal delivery, and feeding assistance on-site at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City. The role emphasizes organization, prompt responsiveness, and training new staff as part of a patient-centered care team.

You will assist with daily tasks, perform basic clinical checks, and support nursing staff while contributing to a culture of continuous learning in a busy hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a nursing program and will complete Fundamentals of Nursing within 90 days; or CNA/PCT certification; or PCT certification.
• Direct patient care experience in the past three years as a nursing assistant, EMT, or surgical technician; or completion within last three years of a UAP training program with 100 hours of patient care experience.
• Nursing licensure candidate who has not yet passed state licensure or who is awaiting licensure examinations in this country.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff/ancillary staff in the transfer of patients from bed to bed, stretcher or wheelchair, and delivery of patient meals and feeding assistance.
• Organize workload and manage multiple tasks while maintaining an orderly environment and prompt communication.
• Educate and train new staff members in the responsibilities of the Care Team Associate role.
• Perform patient position changes, assist with basic hygiene, and collect basic lab samples as directed.
• Enter information accurately into the bed-management system and respond promptly to patient call lights.
