MU Health Care is seeking a Nurse Tech for Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City. The role supports nursing staff, helps with patient care, transfers, feeding, and equipment handling on nights with a rotating schedule.

On-site placement in a busy Med Surg unit emphasizes compassion, multitasking, and teamwork to ensure patient comfort and timely responses. Qualifications include CNA or PCT certification paths, nursing program enrollment, or prior direct patient care within 3 years.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a nursing program or completion of Fundamentals of Nursing within 90 days.
• CNA or CNA exam registration or PCT certification.
• Direct patient care experience within the past 3 years in clinical roles.
• UAP training with 100 hours of patient care experience within the last 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing/ancillary staff with patient transfers and meal tray delivery.
• Organize workload, answer unit phones promptly, and relay messages clearly.
• Educate and train new Care Team Associates as directed.
• Perform routine duties and respond to routine and emergent situations.
• Position patients, manage equipment, perform basic dressings and glucose checks.
• Enter data into the bed-management system accurately and timely.
• Respond to patient call lights with professional service and document vitals as directed.
• Complete department-specific duties as outlined.
