Highlands Rehabilitation and Wellness Center in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Staff Development Coordinator licensed as an LPN or RN to lead staff growth and education. You will design curricula, conduct trainings, and oversee competency validation for nursing staff to improve resident care outcomes.

The role emphasizes coordinating orientation, performance reviews, and data tracking while staying current with regulatory requirements and best practices.

Qualifications

• Current Alabama LPN or RN license (or multistate compact) is required.
• Current CPR/BLS certification is required.
• Long-term care or skilled nursing experience is preferred.
• Prior experience in staff education, training, or nursing leadership is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate staff training and education programs; develop curricula and evaluate effectiveness.
• Oversee new hire orientation and competency validation for CNAs, LPNs, and RNs.
• Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to staff.
• Identify staffing needs and suggest solutions to ensure adequate staffing levels.
• Maintain accurate records of staff training, licensure verification, and evaluations.
• Collaborate with Director of Nursing and management to ensure coordination.
• Stay current with regulatory requirements and best practices.
