Job summary

Bellway Health and Rehabilitation in Selma, AL, is seeking an experienced RN Staff Development Coordinator to lead nursing education and competency programs in our skilled nursing team.

The role focuses on onboarding, ongoing in-services, regulatory readiness, and collaboration with Nursing leadership to improve resident care while maintaining audit readiness and staff development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Alabama.
• Experience in skilled nursing or long-term care.
• Experience in staff education/training or nursing leadership preferred.
• Strong knowledge of state and federal regulatory requirements.
• Familiar with the survey process and survey readiness.
• Strong clinical assessment and nursing skills.
• Excellent communication, teaching, and presentation skills.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Current CPR certification or ability to obtain as required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and lead staff education and training programs
• Conduct new hire orientation and clinical onboarding for nursing staff
• Provide ongoing in-services and competency-based training
• Support clinical skill development and performance improvement initiatives
• Identify educational needs and develop appropriate training programs
• Ensure compliance with state and federal training requirements
• Assist nursing leadership with survey readiness and regulatory preparation
• Track and maintain employee education records, competencies, and certifications
• Monitor required training to ensure timely completion
• Collaborate with the Director of Nursing and other nursing leadership to identify training needs
• Provide coaching, education, and support to nursing staff
• Promote clinical best practices, quality resident care, and regulatory compliance
