Job summary

Intermountain Health seeks an onsite Nursing Professional Development Practitioner to guide caregiver orientation, assess learning needs, and coordinate ongoing professional education. The role emphasizes evidence-based practice, interprofessional learning, and leadership in nursing development.

You will mentor preceptors, support transitions, and promote self-reliance among caregivers while aligning with program goals and care group standards.

Qualifications

• BSN from an accredited institution and RN license.
• BLS for healthcare providers.
• Demonstrated experience in adult or staff development.
• Demonstrated nursing experience.
• Master’s degree in nursing or related field (preferred).
• NPD-BC certification (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Serve as resource, consultant, and mentor to caregivers and preceptors.
• Promote self-reliance, guide orientation, and support ongoing learning.
• Apply educational design and adult learning principles to address gaps from needs assessments and evaluations.
• Collaborate with colleagues to understand goals, priorities, and learning needs for care areas, ensuring evidence-based practices.
• Facilitate interprofessional learning and advancements in nursing and healthcare.
• Foster inquiry by sharing new knowledge to advance NPD practice and patient care.
• Partner with stakeholders to ensure smooth transitions for new and existing caregivers and adoption of new practices.
