Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is hiring for a role in Knoxville with a hybrid work arrangement. The position involves nuclear power plant systems design, including modification packages, drawings, analyses, specifications, and vendor bid evaluations.

You will also develop cost estimates, interface with client sites, and lead engineering project teams, with a focus on delivering cost-effective designs using data and modern tools.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in the power industry.
• Working knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations for mechanical design of nuclear plants.
• PE license is beneficial, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Modify packages for operating nuclear power plants.
• Prepare/review functional mechanical drawings for plant systems.
• Perform engineering analyses to support plant modifications and operation.
• Prepare technical specifications and procurement documents for plant equipment.
• Evaluate vendor bids for plant equipment.
• Lead engineering project teams.
