Sargent & Lundy seeks a Mechanical Engineer for a hybrid Knoxville role focused on nuclear power plant design. You will design, review, and modify plant systems, preparing packages and specifications while collaborating with clients and project teams.

The role emphasizes using modern tools, engineering analyses, and cost estimates, with opportunities to lead projects and visit client sites. ABET-accredited degree and 1 year of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• Minimum of 1 year of engineering experience or an MS degree.
• Working knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations for nuclear power plant mechanical design.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Modify and review mechanical and systems drawings for nuclear power plants.
• Prepare modification packages and technical specifications for plant equipment.
• Perform engineering analyses and evaluations to support plant modifications and operation.
• Develop engineering cost estimates for small to mid-sized client-requested work scopes.
• Lead engineering project teams and interface with clients on status and deliverables.
• Visit client offices or plant sites to present engineering tasks and status.
