Job summary

Sargent & Lundy LLC in the United States is seeking an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer Intern to join a project team on nuclear power plant systems, combining electrical, mechanical, and control theory.

Under supervision, you will assist in calculations, specifications, and designs; track project progress and data; and gain hands-on experience with sensors, digital controllers, displays, pumps, valves, and heat exchangers.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering program enrollment preferred
• Strong academic background in analog & digital control systems, systems engineering, mechatronics, or robotics
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency with MS Office applications

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations, specifications, and designs
• Work on project reporting: track progress and data
• Support the engineering team on projects involving design/modifications to power plant systems with electrical, mechanical, and control-theory elements
