Job summary

Sargent & Lundy seeks an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer Intern to join a project team on nuclear power plant systems, combining electrical, mechanical engineering and control theory. You will support senior engineers by applying knowledge of sensors, digital controllers, displays, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, and turbines to real-world design challenges.

Under supervision, you’ll prepare engineering calculations, specifications and designs, and help track project progress and data

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering with coursework in analog and digital control systems, systems engineering, mechatronics, or robotics.
• Enrollment in an ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-approved program is preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications.

• Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations, specifications, and designs.
• Work on project reporting, tracking progress and data.
